How to be Saved

Agree with God that you are a sinner:

Romans 3:10, “As it is written, there is none righteous, no, not one.”

Romans 3:23, “For all have sinned and come short of the glory of God.”

Know that God loves you:

John 3:16, “For God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten Son that whosoever believeth in  Him should not perish, but have everlasting life.”

Romans 5:8, “But God commendeth His love toward us, in that while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us.”

Recognize that you cannot save yourself:

Ephesians 2:8-9, “For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God.  Not of works, lest any man should boast.”

Repent (turn away from) your sin and living your own way and turn to Christ:

Mark 2:17, “When Jesus heard it, he saith unto them, They that are whole have no need of the physician, but they that are sick: I came not to call the righteous, but sinners to repentance.”

Believe that Jesus died for your sins and rose again:

Romans 6:23, “For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.”

I Corinthians 14:3-4, “For I delivered unto you first of all that which I also received, how that Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures;  And that he was buried, and that he rose again the third day according to the scriptures.”

Romans 10:9-10, “That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised Him from the dead, thou shalt be saved.  For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation.”

Pray and call upon the Lord to save you and He will:

Romans 10:13, “For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved.”

John 1:12, “But as many as received Him, to them gave he power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on His name.”

If you desire to receive Christ, talk to the Lord.  If you are sincere here is what you can say to the Lord: “Dear God, I agree with you that I am a sinner and I cannot save myself from my sin’s condemnation.  I believe that you died for me on the Cross and rose again.  I am trusting you for my forgiveness and salvation.  I turn from my sin and give my life to you.  Thank you for saving me.”  If you have trusted Christ, your new life has begun.  Please contact us by email (office@firstbaptistos.org) or phone (228-875-4532) and we will help you with the next steps.
